Yesterday I took the older two boys to Six Flags. It was Reid’s (5) first trip to an amusement park. I had a sneaking suspicion that my little adrenaline junkie would enjoy himself. We started in Looney Tunes land with the kids rides.

We then worked our way through the park onto bigger rides. Reid fell in love with the roller coaster. He was interested in riding them all, but at a little taller than 42″ that is not an option.

For the last ride of the day I found one of the bigger coasters that would allow him ridership at his short stature. I sat next to him and heard his happy screams. When it was over I was surprised to turn and see this:

Such a sad face!

“Reid, did that scare you?”

“No mommy.”

“Then why are you so sad?”

“Why can’t roller coasters be longer?”

  1. He has a point about the length of the rides, especially when they compare to the length of waiting. Ugh!

I’m impressed that y’all went in the triple digit weather, I would have been a big pool of sweat. You can say Ewww now. 🙂

  2. I love roller coasters–we grew up new Cedar Point–THE roller coaster park. I need to take the kids to Six Flags 🙂

  3. Tell Reid I’m with him. Haven’t been on a coaster since our one year anniversary trip to Hershey Park (yup, we’re big kids).

  4. My hubby hates roller coasters so I hope at least one of my kids likes them so I have someone to ride with.

  5. Darn It! We need to get to our 6 flags, it’s like 20 minutes away! When we took Sj to DisneyLand in December, she rode her first roller coaster. I couldn’t believe the excitement she experienced and was thrilled she caught the amusement park bug just like her mom (dad gets motion sickness!).

The only downfall, she had to actually wait in line to go again, we had to drag her off!!!

  6. I SO TOTALLY AGREE with Reid!!!

I am going to make a trip to St. Louis in the next two weeks before school starts and take my boys. (to 6 flags, that is)
