i bought the pocket chair

So, I saw the commercial for the pocket chair…

Tired of standing around?

Want to get off your feet?

Oh those bulky folding chairs!

How do you take a seat?

Thankfully, Adam Jay introduces us to the Pocket Chair.

The convenient and compact chair that folds up and fits right in your pocket!

I like to sit!

I would like a chair that folds up and fits right into my pocket!

I bought the pocket chair!

pocket chair

I took it out of the box and set it up.

It unfolds and is re-enforced with a secured strap.   I was surprised that it was sturdy.

It felt like it would NOT tip over.

It felt like it would cut off circulation to my unfortunately exposed thigh.

The seat is a strip of canvas that reminds me of a swing.   That part was mildly comfortable, but it is attached at both ends to part of the thin metal frame which dug into my hindside to a point where I just had to stand up.

Not everyone in the family’s backside was too large for the seat.

Rhett, who is 5, has claimed the pocket chair as his own.   He is not strong enough to fold and unfold it, but he carries it around wherever he goes.

I even found him sleeping with it one night.

He now calls it his chair.

So, the Pocket Chair has a happy ending at my house.

Oh, and for the big question…

Does the chair REALLY fit in your pocket?

You decide.

pocket chair in pocketI have decided that anyone with a pocket BIG enough to accommodate the pocket chair, might have a behind too LARGE for it.

  1. ROFL! I <3 these posts!

  2. LOLOL Love it great post…seems like the pocket chair would be great for the kiddies though!!

  3. LOL! I love when you buy the ‘As Seen on TV’ products! Remind me have you done the Shake Weight yet?

  4. Darn! I must cancel my order asap, there’s no way I’m fitting in that thing!

  5. Melissa R says:

Holly, you must stop doing this. Stop watching infomercials. Cut yourself off 100%. Do you wear those pajama jeans anymore, for example? (Maybe you do!)

Infomercials rot your brain. I’m sure you can think of a million things you could be doing instead. Like a hot bath, or turning the channel to a nature or science program. Or sleeping.

  6. I can always count on you to set us right on these things! Thanks Holly!

  7. I’m cracking up at the strategically placed arrow!

  8. Are they the same company that makes the pocket pool table? It seems to be popular with little boys and older men.

  9. I have actually thought about buying one of these to have in my diaper bag for the odd places that I have had to breastfeed my son. I can stand and do it, but would prefer to sit.

  10. you ever notice the people in infomercials look ridiculous doing simple tasks, like carrying chairs or getting up off the ground? I thought that he MUST have had a BIG pocket for that chair.

  11. I like to keep things in my pockets – but not chairs.

  12. That is funny! The last time we went to (a store that shall remain nameless), my Bebe Boy James saw these at the ends of the registers and asked me to buy one for him. I didn’t. But … after three Boy Scout camping trips this summer, and trying to keep all of his items either inside or attached to ONE backpack, this might be a good idea for him!

  13. this is awesome, it seems like we are packing a cart load of chairs

  14. The IDEA of the pocket chair sounds lovely. The sitting…My kid would probably do well with this chair. Funny review!

  15. Oh wow! The concept sounds awesome, but I’m curious of how well it holds up, hehe. Guess I might have to test it out 🙂

  16. I could probably use TWO pocket chairs….one for each cheek. 😀

  17. I LOVE it – the honesty and the review . . . not necessarily the pocket chair!

  18. Despite knowing that the circulation to my legs may be cut off causing an inevitable spill regardless of how sturdy that thing is…I’m still tempted. 😉

  19. Hehe… thanks for the giggle. This would be great for my older sons activities in sports. With two other unruly boys we usually end up displaced from the bleachers and off to the side somewhere. Cute review!

  20. Seeing as I rarely have pockets and never use them can I call it a handbag chair? It will definately fit in there!

  21. Does the pocket chair fit in the pocket of your pajama jeans? That is really the question here… (Do the pajama jeans even have pockets???)

  22. haha maybe my niece would want this?? 🙂

  23. Haha, that’s cute! 🙂

  24. Too funny! It definitely looks more child-oriented, if only it actually fit in pockets. Maybe they should rename it the purse chair.

  25. I’m not sure that my big booty would love this chair much, but I bet my 3 year old would!! 😉

  26. Thanks for the smile this morning! I’d never even seen the pocket chair before!

  27. My kids would probably love this…I can see myself tipping out of it as soon as I sit down 🙂

  28. I would get into that little chair and never be able to get myself out.

  29. Wow. Just…wow.

I think my 14 month old daughter would fit in it, but it would be hysterical to see me or my wife in one.

  30. Hahahaha I loved your review! This chair could be useful with children while camping, though. You gave me quite a laugh.

  31. Ha ha ha! That last statement you made is too funny! I was thinking it looked way too small to accommodate any adult behind. It does look like it would come in handy for the kids and two of them would probably fit easily into my purse.

  32. Love this! I’m so tempted SO TEMPTED!!! I want to see if it’ll fit in my tiny jean pockets 😛

  33. Maybe he could invent the “Pocket Bucket Chair” Because I am DEFINITELY a bucket full kind of girl. And I don’t think I’d buy it for kids. They can sit on the ground…..just like I did !! They are still agile and limber !! I’m NOT. LOL

  34. Yup. I took one look at that thing and imagined that hemorrhoids would be more comfortable. I’m pretty sure the pocket chair was not designed to accommodate my pregnant butt. And I’m pretty sure I don’t want hemorrhoids either. 😉

  35. Ha! I can’t find any fold-out chairs that will fit back in their original bags/totes/whatever without Herculean efforts.

  36. How, oh how, have I never been to this site before? You are a hoot!

  37. Wow! Too funny! I am not sure if I would buy one or not…but I assure you my behind is not very small!

  38. LOL! I’m not too sure it would fit me, but I’ll definitely find someone “small” enough…

  39. Pocket Chair?!? I haven’t seen this! My husband has a very, very tiny behind… maybe he would enjoy it. 🙂

  40. That would be something my grand-kids would love to have.

  41. It’s the perfect size for my daughter.

  42. Going to a lot of concerts, I think this might come in handy in those situations where you are waiting around for a while but really wouldn’t like to sit on the ground! Although I might be one of those people with a behind too large for it lol

  43. I think my kids might like it. For five minutes.

  44. this is a great invention!

  45. I’d like to be entered into this contest 🙂

  46. Maybe I need one for each pocket and each cheek? Or just have my 4 year old use it.

  47. I think this would be great for my son who always complains that his legs are tired! 🙂

  48. I absolutely love your review on this- honest and comical all at the same time!

  49. Wow, that is a small chair! Not for me as I am sure there is a weight limit..haha =)

  50. Sadly, I think my pockets would be too small and my, um… behind too large. I love that something that is supposed to fit in your pocket comes with a carrying case though. I think that’s a bit telling on their part. 🙂

  51. LOL. Your comments about the chair are hilarious!!! I have never heard of it until now. I don’t think those chairs are designed for average to heavy sized people. They might be good for kids though!!! I might get one just for my son!!!

  52. Haha…I’m not sure ifn it would fit in my pocket…but maybe my purse…so it could be my pocket purse chair…hehe Great review~!!!

  53. Hilarious post and I love that the chair had a “happy ending” 🙂

  54. LOL! Hysterical…what will they NOT think of marketing?

  55. I think the pocket chair is pretty cool. But from your picture, I don’t think that it would fit in a pocket. But a small backpack though, yes. It would be perfect for going to college football games!

  56. Lol – that is EXACTLY how I feel about them. 🙂 But my hubs wants one for when he and my 7 year old go fishing and although I have more than enough rear end, my hubs is sorely lacking, so it would likely be comfortable for him. 😉

  57. This would be great for soccer games…for the kids rear’s though 😉

  58. I would love to enter this contest for the pocket chair – I already have a little guy in mind who would love it for his backyard camping adventures with his dad.

  59. I like the idea of the Pocket chair and would love to be entered for the giveaway.
    Thanks.

  60. Hahahah this is hilarious. “My unfortunate exposed thigh” LOL I love this post. I can’t decide if this chair actually looks comfortable or not, but it’s amazing that it seems so sturdy! Would be nice to carry around in my daughters diaper bag to take a break every now and then haha

  61. It has the perfect size for a young child, but definitely not the pocket. Thanks for the fun-to-read, informative review!

  62. Oh~ Now maybe I need to go get one of those pocket chairs~ (Although perhaps “Pocketbook” chair might be more appropos) We could use a tiny chair for Feis’n ~ Sometimes there are very crowded venues, with no place to sit! And DD should “fit” the chair fairly well. I’m sure her 4yo brother would enjoy it as well.

Ah the things I miss not watching commercial TV….. thanks for the enlightenment. 😉

  63. Haha that is hilarious sticking out of your pocket!!! Great idea for the kiddos though!! 🙂

  64. I have to admit, this would be nice to have in the car for those times when you wished you had a place to sit (ie: wet, muddy, soccer field). And then the next time I ask my husband “is that a chair in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” he can honestly answer, it’s a chair.

  65. LOL! Too funny! At least its the perfect size for a young child though!

  66. The pocket chair review is TOO funny! But also provided all the info I needed to decide it WOULD not be coming to my home soon. However it would be a great addition to anyone’s home that has kids who always want to hog the beach chairs! The name is definietly a misnomer but it did get out attention! Posting and laughing at the same time here! Oh and the $25. would be great! LOL

  67. Very funny! I like to take a humorous approah to my reviews too. But who couldn’t with your experience with this chair? I do think it would be handy if you had a stroller or large bag that you could put it in. Then if you have a toddler or small child, they could sit on it instead of climbing on you to carry them when they get tired. 🙂 Glad your son likes it!

  68. My curiosity is PEAKED….can a person PLANK on a pocket chair?

  69. I have seen these all over the place but something kept telling me they are meant for small butts!

  70. Looks like the right size for kids……plus they love little seats to sit in and read a book.

  71. Wow, it doesn’t really look like it’s made for an “average” adult. I too loved that this was a “happy ending” for your family (at least Rhett gets to enjoy it) 🙂

    ~Kesha

  72. Hmmm – the one person you probably DON’T want sitting all the time fits it. I don’t know if that’s good or bad – the good thing is it means YOU don’t have to carry him all the time – he can sit while YOU stand!

Enter me in the contest – I WONT be buying the chair! LOL

  73. Is that a chair in your pocket, or are you just happy to be blogging?

Sitting is one of my main hobbies, but I think I’ll stick to the couch!

  74. This is hilarious! I have never seen the ad for that. Gald your 5-year-old liked it. I think my kids would, too. Not sure my thighs would enjoy it, though.

  75. I’ve never seen anything like this! Sounds handy, but doesn’t look too comfortable. Hmmmm.

  76. Ha! This is the funniest post of the day! I love it.

How do you SLEEP in a pocket chair? I want pics of that!

  77. What a funny little product….emphasis on little. I don’t think my bottom will fit in it at all.

Maybe good for my 4 yr old.

  78. Im interested in the product but think i might be in the group of the large booties. What is the weight limit and also would it fit comfortably in a purse? Great review love the site please feel free to check us out at http://www.frugaldesertdwellers.com!

I would love to be entered in to the contest and actually I think I want to own one of these if for nothing more than a conversation piece. I enjoyed reading your post. It was informative and humorous at the same time. I love that your son claimed it for his own, that is so cute.

  80. I would let my three year old use it… too tiny for a regular adult!

  81. Kellie R. says:

Perfect for hunting and hiking! breezyinaz at gmail dot com

  82. lol they should def call it the oversized tote chair instead

  83. i love it! It would be perfect for tailgating for the preschoolers! Thanks for the review

  84. Wasn’t tempted by this pocket chair in the least.

  85. Hi Pattie!
