We are introducing a new program for our household tonight… candy buy back.
After our evening stroll from house to house, knocking on total strangers’ doors and requesting that they give my three little pirates some candy, my husband and I have set up a treasure chest of booty that we hope they cannot refuse. The rules: 1. Each child selects their favorite two pieces of candy from their stash. 2. We will pay them $5 for the rest of their cavity-inducing friends. 3. Each additional piece they want to buy from us will cost them $1 each. 4. The rest will be donated to a local church’s children’s ministry to keep the hyper love going for the next several months. The idea is simple really… we have worked way too hard at losing the weight that we have to allow candy to sit around our house. And since I have no interest in spending another Halloween night with vomiting Yoda’s (you can check out that story on my blog), the best thing we can do for our entire family is to teach them that we can still have the traditional fun of trick-or-treating, but with a healthier twist (both for our bodies and their piggy banks).Welcome to Kids Activities!
