What is a Dump Cake?

As previously mentioned, a dump cake is similar to a cobbler. It’s an American dessert that uses cake mix as a topping, usually covered in pats of butter or melted butter. It’s layered together in a baking dish without mixing. Just as the name suggests, you’re basically “dumping” the ingredients into a casserole dish and then baking. There are so many different kinds of dump cake that you can make including a blueberry dump cake, a pineapple dump cake, or seasonal flavors like this Pumpkin Dump Cake.
