The Modern Museum of Art in Fort Worth offers some great children’s summer programs.   Registration for Summer Art Study for Ages 14-16 continues through the month of June.   But their other wonderful programs include Wonderful Wednesdays and Drawing from the Collection for Children!

Summer Art Study The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth's Art Camp, for ages five to 16, emphasizes learning through direct observation of art and thoughtful art activities inspired by the current exhibition. Distinguished area artists are invited to design and lead art activities based on the art in the galleries, introducing students to some of the complex and challenging concepts and practices behind modern and contemporary art. Activities encompass everything from art making in the traditional sense to interdisciplinary exploration. Summer Art Study for Ages 14-16 with artist Titus O ™Brien, $325/$250 for members, July 18 “ 22 from 9am- 3pm.   Wonderful Wednesdays Wonderful Wednesdays is a program for families led by a docent and includes a gallery project designed by the education department. The tour and project focus on works in the Museum's collection. Registration is not required, but a sign-up sheet is provided at the front desk the day of the program. Attendance is limited; admission is free. Second Wednesday of each month, 4 “4:45 pm June 8 “Visiting the work of Carl Andre July 13 “Visiting the work of Cy Twombly August 10 “Visiting the work of Anselm Kiefer   Drawing from the Collection for Children This exciting gallery program for children between the ages of five and 12 is led by an artist who takes participants through informal drawing exercises in relation to works in the collection. Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Bring a sketchbook and pencils or purchase materials in The Modern Shop. Attendance is limited. A sign-up sheet is located at the front desk; early arrival is encouraged.
