Rhett(4) has been a little sneaky lately. He has been sneaking into my bed in the middle of the night very quietly. Very, very quietly. The boys had learned before blog-Stedman started working nights that it was best to sneak into HIS side of the bed.   I was usually the mean, “go back to your OWN bed” kinda mom.   Now that they don’t have him as a buffer in MY bed, the boys (and by boys, I mean RHETT) have to resort to dealing with ME. So, Rhett stealthfully slips into my bed and by the time I realize he is there he is fast asleep. The boy might be a genius. What mom is going to WAKE a sleeping child that looks like an angel from heaven when he is asleep? Not me. Rhett had slept the entire night in his own bed for a few nights in a row, but last night he made a secret entrance during a thunderstorm. The next morning I asked him… Rhett, did you sleep in my bed because of the thunderstorm last night? No.   I am not afraid of thunderstorms like Ryan and Reid are. Then why did you come down? Because I like you. Like I said, the boy might be a genius.

  1. When your 10 yr old shows up in your bed, along with the 3 yr old and 1 yr old that still sleep there, it gets a little crowded. Hubby sleeps in his recliner some nights, as his sleep apnea/snoring seem to not be as severe when he sleeps there. He actually has energy when he wakes up sleeping there.

  2. Way too cute! I love snuggling with my girls when my husband is on a business trip… Now my teen is too “cool” but my 12 year old still likes me…lol

    Love to you’

  3. Okay. That butterfly boy of yours is delicious!!!

Currently, my 5-year-old will slip into our bed at night and as long as she doesn’t kick me, we’re all good. I know how quickly it all slips away…..too fast.

    That photo is amazing….

    Happy Monday!

  4. Aw, you can’t kick him out when he says things like that! My favorite part of the weekend is when my little one comes in to bed and snuggles before really waking up. It’s only about 20 minutes, but I love it. The older one knows she can go downstairs to watch cartoons if she gets dressed. Wonder how she is so perky on the weekend, but you have to drag her out of bed on school days?!

  5. There’s something so special about sleeping in mama’s bed. Love the picture, too. Such a handsome little guy!

  6. Aw. How are we to put them back in their own beds when they are so cute and sneaky? “I like you” indeed!
