These pet rocks are so easy to make.

Step 1

First, scrub the dirt off the rocks with an old toothbrush and allow the rocks to dry completely (use a hairdryer for faster drying time).

Step 2

Next, paint the rocks. We used yellow, blue, and orange.

Notes:

You may need two coats of paint and you’ll want to cover your crafting area with newspaper or plastic to protect your working area since acrylic paint does not come out easily.

Tips:

Afterwards, you could also add a layer of glow-in-the-dark paint once the acrylic paint dries.

Steps 1-4- pet rocks- paint the rocks, glue on pom poms and googly eyes and give it a smile to make rock creatures
Paint the rock, let it dry, glue on pom poms and googly eyes, and don’t forget to give your pet rock a smile.

Step 3

Third, using the hot glue gun and hot glue sticks adhere googly eyes, pom-poms, feathers or any other embellishments to your rock creatures.

Notes:

Young kids will need an older child or adult to help them with this step.
