If you have a Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play sleeper you may want to discontinue use. After several reports of infant related deaths, experts are asking consumers to stop using it immediately.

According to the report, The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Fisher-Price warn consumers about the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play due to reports of death when infants roll over in the product.

Infants typically begin rollover behaviors at 3 months which can cause infants to become stuck and unable to breath while being placed in products such as this one.

The CPSC is aware of 10 infant deaths in the Rock ‘n Play that have occurred since 2015, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side, while unrestrained.  All 10 infants were 3 months or older.

The recall was originally issued in 2019 but unfortunately, since that time, approximately 70 additional fatalities have been reported.

The recall notes that in some of the reports, Fisher-Price “has been unable to confirm the circumstances of the incidents or that the product was a Rock ‘n Play Sleeper.”

The CPSC asks consumers to stop using the Rock ‘n Play Sleepers immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher. “It is illegal to sell or distribute the recalled sleepers,” the recall states.

The Rock ‘n Play Sleepers were sold at major stores nationwide including Walmart, Target, and online at Amazon from September 2009 through April 2019 for between $40 and $149.

This includes all models of Fisher Price Rock ‘N Play regardless of the design or print.

Consumers can report a dangerous product or a product-related injury go online to www.SaferProducts.gov or call CPSC’s Hotline at 800-638-2772
