People Say Reese’s Eggs Are Better Than Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

If you’re  lucky enough to not be allergic to peanuts, you’ve been able to enjoy the most delicious candy out there – Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

With Easter nearing, people are saying People Say Reese’s Eggs Are Better Than Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and I don’t disagree.

Reese’s Eggs are better.

In fact, the Reese’s Egg is the best candy bar of all time. Or, candy egg of all time.

The Reese’s Egg should just replace the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for good, because the peanut butter cup is inferior to the egg.

Sure, the other Seasonal Reese’s like the tree, the pumpkin and even hearts are good too but, not as good.

If you disagree, hear me out…

The Reese’s Egg is literally the perfect taste, size, texture and shape.

It has the perfect chocolate to peanut butter ratio and just melts in your mouth (sorry, but room temperature is the only true way to eat these). My husband thinks they are best frozen but I think that just messes with the whole melt in your mouth concept.

Chocolate and peanut butter > Whatever is inside your Easter egg. #NotSorry

Personally, I believe the egg being that it’s almost round, gives the candy consistency and you know the old saying, “consistency is key!”.

I totally think that applies here.

It’s almost round, doesn’t contain ridges and fits perfectly in your hand.

Oh and the best part? The egg contains more peanut butter than it’s candy cousins. 9 grams more than the cup to be exact.

How do I know this?

Well, this guy deconstructed all of the different Reese’s candies to find out how they ranked against each other using an X-Acto knife. Some may call him crazy, others call him passionate about his peanut butter and chocolate.

Nonetheless, his study is worth checking out.

I’ve always thought that the ridges on the original Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup gave it too much crunch and it didn’t pair well with the creamy middle. It always made me disappointed when I’d eat one.

I like the soft, consistent bite I get when biting into a Reese’s Egg. I just don’t think it can get any better than that.

And many people agree with me…

reese's eggs are better

Twitter users are particularly passionate about those Reese’s Eggs and I don’t blame them.

So, let’s settle this once for all, are Reese’s Eggs or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Better?

  1. Agreed anytime you get more peanut butter that’s better. To be honest I have no idea why they even came out with the new reeses thins. That’s less peanut butter why? I know it’s not exactly the same but a spoon and a jar off reeses peanut butter just rules.

    TRUTH!

  3. I completely agree, the egg is the absolute best of all!!!!

  4. Absolutely! They are sooo good! Way better than any other with the Reese’s name!

  5. I disagree! I think the Reese cups are way better!!

  6. Stephanie says:

    Eggs allllllll the way!!!! ?

  7. My husband loves the miniture Reese’s eggs. The big ones have to much peanut butter in it. It should be sold All year long.

  8. Cups rule, especially mini cups, love the feel of the chocolate ridges! And the peanut butter Tastes better not as creamy and smooth as egg but I like it better and!

  9. Couldn’t agree more. I can’t even tell you how many bags of the Reese’s Eggs I purchased already this year and it’s not even April. And I can’t remember the last time I ate a regular Reese’s peanut butter cup.

  10. Do the eggs come in dark chocolate??? Just asking for a friend…lol ?

  11. The EGG all day! They are soooo much better! The cups don’t even come close!

  12. Catherine says:

Last year or the year before the eggs were literally just blobs, not eggs. It was a total fail. I think I remember people being pretty mad about it.

  13. Jess Is Blessed says:

You nailed it! When I was little I always thought the Reese’s Eggs were better but thought it was all my head. I wond sometimes eat an entire bag of the Reese’s Eggs just because you couldn’t get them any other time than Easter! I love this article! #TRUTH

  14. I completely agree! The more peanut butter the better it is.

  15. Kristen Yard says:

    Right?!

  16. Beverly Zimmerman says:

Why hasn’t Reese’s come out with a clover for St Patrick’s Day ?

  17. Try the king size Reese’s cup with Reese’s pieces in it… This is a close second imo

  18. Y’all the reason the seasonal Reese’s are better is because they are made with gluten. It adds more of a creamy, whipped, peanut butter consistency than the OG Reese’s cups. When you are on a gluten free diet you can have regular Reese’s but not seasonal ones.

  19. Eggs for days…..I absolutely agree the Reese’s Egg is better. Who wouldn’t choose the Smooth, Rich and Creamy deliciousness of what is the Reese’s Egg? The Reese’s cup is dry, hard covered in waxy chocolate. No comparison. Give me the egg everyday, NOT SORRY!!!!

  20. I’m apparently part of a minority here…I prefer the cups over the eggs. I love the ridge!

  21. Sandra lucas says:

The egg is the best of all time!!!!

  22. Penny Harrington says:

    Cups are definitely better!!

  23. They r better weird but true

  24. EGGS ALL THE WAY!!! However, the trees are a close second followed by the heart. I can’t stand the regular size cups or the minis!!! The ridges are horrible!! I look forward every year to the Easter season, so I can but eggs!!! I’m on my 3rd bag and it’s barely March!! Lol

  25. Definitely the eggs and your have to eat them frozen!!
