Macaroni & Cheese is the perfect comfort food. It’s warm and cozy and especially cheesy — what’s not to love. This recipe for homemade Creamy Mac & Cheese is super yummy with a little fresh spinach to make it even better!
Making homemade mac & cheese doesn’t have to be difficult either — this recipe is really easy to make and takes no time at all.
Creamy Mac & Cheese
Shopping List:
- 4 cups Elbow Macaroni
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- 2-3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
- 3 1/2 – 4 cups Heavy Cream
- Salt
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 cup Italian Blend Cheese, shredded
- 1-2 cups Fresh Spinach (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook pasta in salted water — follow instructions for al dente pasta (usually 6-7 minutes), drain and set aside
- In a skillet, melt butter and cook garlic for about 30 seconds
- Add flour and combine
- Whisk in heavy cream and season with a pinch of salt, a few turns of ground pepper and Italian Seasoning and mix
- Add cheese and combine
- Add cooked pasta and stir until well incorporated into the cheesy mixture
- Add 1-2 cups of spinach and mix
- Serve
*You can leave out the spinach or add other veggies to make it a complete meal
