Boys. There is something about speed and cars.  This is one of our go-to activities for 2 year olds. a boy and his cars 1 We have three boys and three girls. And while my girls will gladly drop cars down a mat, I know that if I *need* to keep my two year old occupied for awhile, getting his bucket of cars out and a cardboard box ramp is sure to win, every time! a boy and his cars 1 Isn’t it true that often in life the less complicated things are, the more simple, the more engaging. Your kids can adapt their ramp to include a parking garage, like this file folder game, or “hide” the cars below the ramp between the steps, the box can be used to roll other things down the steps. How fast do pom-poms fall down the ramp?   How about ping-pong balls? Do baby dolls go down the ramp easily? Those are all questions my child has explored with a box on the steps. Our kids are exploring physics and cause and effect without even realizing it!
