turkey skate bannerMy son plays hockey so we spend a lot of time traveling to various ice skating rinks around the Metroplex for his hockey games.   I had no idea there were so many ice rinks in one area! This past weekend we were at the Allen Community Ice Rink and learned about a different kind of family event coming up this weekend that we just have to check out. It’s called Turkey Skate and it sounds fun! There will be various Thanksgiving themed on-ice games and activities including Turkey Bowling, a Whip Cream Pie Eating Contest, and even Turkey Tag! Grab your family and friends and come out for some turkey fun out on the ice!   You know you’ll need to burn off a few calories from all the leftovers you’ve eaten by then.
She Is Dallas Info:   Turkey Skate will take place at the Allen Community Ice Rink located at 200 E. Allen Community Ice Rink is a full- size, state-of-the-art ice surface.   There are locker rooms, snack machines, and nice bathrooms. They offer open skate times for the public to come and practice their moves on the ice.   Check out the Open Skate schedule for specific dates and times. allen ice skating rink Don’t know how to skate?   Then check out the rink for Learn to Skate programs for all types of figure skating and hockey classes.   My son got addicted to hockey through an innocent looking Learn To Skate program.   It was a rough start.   In the beginning, he was always the last kid to make it to the other side of the rink.   Now he skates several times a week, plays on a hockey team, and loves it! It is always nice to grab a bite to eat after a few hours of skating.  The Allen Community Ice Rink is part of the Village at Allen shopping center so there are plenty of  good restaurants to choose from like  Cotton Patch Cafe, Cowboy Chicken, Freebirds World Burrito, In-N-Out Burger, and Olive Garden, just to name a few.
