This past weekend we were at the Allen Community Ice Rink and learned about a different kind of family event coming up this weekend that we just have to check out.
It’s called Turkey Skate and it sounds fun! There will be various Thanksgiving themed on-ice games and activities including Turkey Bowling, a Whip Cream Pie Eating Contest, and even Turkey Tag!
Grab your family and friends and come out for some turkey fun out on the ice! You know you’ll need to burn off a few calories from all the leftovers you’ve eaten by then.
She Is Dallas Info: Turkey Skate will take place at the Allen Community Ice Rink located at 200 E. Stacy Road #1350 in Allen. The event is Saturday, November 26 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and Skate Rental is $3 per person. Bring a non-perishable item and receive FREE skate rental! All on-ice participants must wear skates. For more information, call 972-912-1097 or visit the City of Allen website or follow the Allen Community Ice Rink on Facebook.
Allen Community Ice Rink is a full- size, state-of-the-art ice surface. There are locker rooms, snack machines, and nice bathrooms. They offer open skate times for the public to come and practice their moves on the ice. Check out the Open Skate schedule for specific dates and times.
Don’t know how to skate? Then check out the rink for Learn to Skate programs for all types of figure skating and hockey classes. My son got addicted to hockey through an innocent looking Learn To Skate program. It was a rough start. In the beginning, he was always the last kid to make it to the other side of the rink. Now he skates several times a week, plays on a hockey team, and loves it!
It is always nice to grab a bite to eat after a few hours of skating. The Allen Community Ice Rink is part of the Village at Allen shopping center so there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from like Cotton Patch Cafe, Cowboy Chicken, Freebirds World Burrito, In-N-Out Burger, and Olive Garden, just to name a few.
