For several years now Rhett(4) and I have had a little game.

We give each other sweet little kisses*.

*a sweet little kiss started out as a raspberry progressed to a shower kiss and now resembles more of a spit kiss.

It goes like this…

I will give you a sweet little kiss. pbbbbsssssttttt

That isn’t a sweet little kiss!   I will show you a sweet little kiss.     pbbbbssssssttttt

THAT isn’t a sweet little kiss!   I will show YOU a sweet little kiss.   pbbbbssssstttt

It goes back and forth and gets louder and louder until Rhett is giggling so hard that he can’t give dramatic emphasis to his delivery of the line and my cheeks are dripping with his kissy-ness.

It is a little slice of motherhood heaven.

Last week we were giving each other sweet little kisses on the couch and Rhett’s very hard head came flying back to collide with the right side of my face.   It knocked the wind out of me and caused a black eye that lasted for several days.

Ouch and ewwww and totally worth it.

  1. HA! I thought I saw a black eye last week at the park, but then I thought maybe you went crazy with the eyeshadow & being the good friend that I am, I let you leave the park that way & didn’t mention your make-up was under your eye. 🙂 Glad you know how to put on makeup, but sorry it was a black eye!

  2. It IS rather disappointing that we got a pic of a cute little boy rather than mommy’s nasty black eye.

  3. ha that explains the black eye.. I saw it last week and thought,,hmmm must be a kid injury adn was going to ask but then tought no maybe its just the light.. you did a good makeup job on it.. its your own fault for having kids with such hard heads..

  4. I love how you create special interactions with each of the kids. Well done Holly.

Of course, I’m dying for a photo of the black eye. But I’m just like that.
