A lot of people don’t know what is literacy, and that’s OK! This is the simplest literacy definition that I found:

Literacy is an ability to read, write and use numeracy in at least one method of writing.

Another literacy meaning, according to UNESCO, is:

“The ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate and compute, using printed and written materials associated with varying contexts.”
