If you’re  lucky enough to not be allergic to peanuts, you’ve been able to enjoy the most delicious candy out there – Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. With Easter nearing, people are saying People Say Reese’s Eggs Are Better Than Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and I don’t disagree. Reese’s Eggs are better. In fact, the Reese’s Egg is the best candy bar of all time. Or, candy egg of all time. The Reese’s Egg should just replace the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for good, because the peanut butter cup is inferior to the egg.  Embed from Getty Images Sure, the other Seasonal Reese’s like the tree, the pumpkin and even hearts are good too but, not as good. Embed from Getty Images If you disagree, hear me out… The Reese’s Egg is literally the perfect taste, size, texture and shape. It has the perfect chocolate to peanut butter ratio and just melts in your mouth (sorry, but room temperature is the only true way to eat these). My husband thinks they are best frozen but I think that just messes with the whole melt in your mouth concept.

Chocolate and peanut butter > Whatever is inside your Easter egg. #NotSorry

Personally, I believe the egg being that it’s almost round, gives the candy consistency and you know the old saying, “consistency is key!”. I totally think that applies here. It’s almost round, doesn’t contain ridges and fits perfectly in your hand. Oh and the best part? The egg contains more peanut butter than it’s candy cousins. 9 grams more than the cup to be exact. How do I know this? Well, this guy deconstructed all of the different Reese’s candies to find out how they ranked against each other using an X-Acto knife. Some may call him crazy, others call him passionate about his peanut butter and chocolate. Nonetheless, his study is worth checking out.

I’ve always thought that the ridges on the original Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup gave it too much crunch and it didn’t pair well with the creamy middle. It always made me disappointed when I’d eat one. I like the soft, consistent bite I get when biting into a Reese’s Egg. I just don’t think it can get any better than that. And many people agree with me… reese's eggs are better Twitter users are particularly passionate about those Reese’s Eggs and I don’t blame them.   So, let’s settle this once for all, are Reese’s Eggs or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Better?

  1. Couldn’t agree more. I can’t even tell you how many bags of the Reese’s Eggs I purchased already this year and it’s not even April. And I can’t remember the last time I ate a regular Reese’s peanut butter cup.

  2. Cups rule, especially mini cups, love the feel of the chocolate ridges! And the peanut butter Tastes better not as creamy and smooth as egg but I like it better and!

  3. My husband loves the miniture Reese’s eggs. The big ones have to much peanut butter in it. It should be sold All year long.

  4. Agreed anytime you get more peanut butter that’s better. To be honest I have no idea why they even came out with the new reeses thins. That’s less peanut butter why? I know it’s not exactly the same but a spoon and a jar off reeses peanut butter just rules.
