Despite its trusted  name, Maclaren USA  announced on Monday November 9th, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, that they were voluntarily recalling over one million strollers. All Maclaren strollers made since 1999 are included in this recall. The recall was  iniated due to at least twelve incidents where children’s fingers have been accidentally amputated by the hinges on the stroller.
Parents are urged to immediately stop using their Maclaren strollers and visit the Maclaren website to find out details of this recall. Such a drastic recall leaves parents questioning if they have wasted their money on a product that retails for about $150. Owners of Maclaren strollers should note that Maclaren USA is standing behind their product, citing that the strollers will be safe to use ONCE parents have requested and installed the new hinge cover set.
If you own a Maclaren stroller, immediately stop using it and visit www.maclaren.us/recallto find out more details about this extensive and important stroller recall. Due to the extensive amount of coverage  this recall has generated, please note that the Maclaren website has been experiencing periodic difficulties. Maclaren USA  can also be reached toll-free at (877) 688-2326 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
Maclaren USA is a top name in the baby stroller industry.
