Who says you can’t have fun eating breakfast! These are some great ideas to make breakfast time more interesting, or to enjoy breakfast food anytime of the day!
Breakfast snacks~
What you need: leftover pancakes and microwavable sausage links
What you do: Next time you make a batch of pancakes double the recipe, and refrigerate or freeze the extras! The make great snacks for kids! Have the kids take a thawed sausage link and wrap a package around the outside and secure with a toothpick. Microwave each one for 30 seconds (time may vary depending on your microwave, experiment until you get it right). Give the kids a small bowl of syrup for dipping and just be sure to remove the toothpicks before eating!
Perfect Parfaits~
What you need: vanilla yogurt, fruit of your choice, granola and see through glass cups.
What you do: Kids love to eat fancy foods, and these healthy parfaits make a great fancy treat. Allow the kids to layer the ingredients in a see through cup. For an extra flair, you can add a maraschino cherry on top!
Peanut Butter Granola~
What you need: 1/3 cup peanut butter, 1/3 cup honey and 3 cups of uncooked oatmeal.
What you do: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine peanut butter and honey and melt in the microwave. Add oatmeal and stir until moist. Spread evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Stir the granola and spread evenly again, then bake an additional 5 minutes. This granola burns easily, so towards the end of the cooking time, you will want to keep a close eye on it! And just a note, this granola tastes wonderful in the parfaits mentioned above!
