The boys have been discussing living arrangements. The older boys are pretty sure that they will all live together when they are adults and might live next door to me.

boy discusses where he will live when he grows up

I am pretty sure they might find girls they like better than their brothers and these plans will dissolve in the name of love. Not brotherly love. Rhett(4) and I had the following discussion tonight as he took a bath: Rhett:   I think when I get older I am going to make things out of Legos and sell them. Me:   That sounds like a fun job. I will find people who aren’t part of our family to buy them. OK. If they aren’t in our family, they will have to pay money. Yes.   You could sell your Lego creations. All the Legos would be here at home.   I could use those. Whoa.   How old will you be when you do this? Adult. You won’t be living at home if you are an adult. Why? Because you will have a family of your own.   You can build your Legos there. I think I will still live here with you, mom and daddy. No.   I am an adult and I don’t live with grandma and grandpa even though they are my mom and dad. Then I think I will live with grandma and grandpa.

  1. So funny! Can’t believe Rhett is so grown up. I think of him a lot lately because my second son Nicholas has a similar personality. He actually smiles when he gets up in the morning! Hope y’all are doing great!

  2. Mine have decided to live next to each other and either next door to us or down the street (changes depending on the day). I hope they always want to live close to each other and to me!

  3. I think that is so precious. Little boys are so sweet. Then they find girls and all that changes, but it is OK!!!

  4. Oh my God, how hilarious is he?! Sounds a bit like something one of my little brothers would come up with … 😛

  5. does he feel you abandoned your parents and it is his job to stand in the gap and repair whatever damage you have caused them??? 🙂 so cute!

  6. My boys plan on living just down the road from me. Havoc already has his future house picked out. Mayhem sees no point in moving out until he gets married but then he’s going to buy the house across the street & they will live there & I’ll get to see his babies every day.

Which is sweet…but I have no intention of being a SAH Grandma if that is what he has in mind.

  7. I remember a conversation much like that.

But the deflection to grandma and grandpa?

    Brilliant.

The conversation I had ended in tears.
