We were all in the car driving somewhere. The boys were in the back seat discussing numbers and math.   Numbers and math are hot topics in my house…not sure why, but not complaining. boys from St. Ives Blog-Stedman asked Ryan(9) if he knew how many people were going to St. Ives. Ryan: 100? Rhett(4): 1000? Reid(7):   Where is St. Ives? I asked them if they knew the poem. They didn’t. They were just guessing. Reid:   Where is St. Ives? I recited the poem:
As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives, Each wife had seven sacks, each sack had seven cats, Each cat had seven kits. Kits, cats, sacks and wives, How many were going to St. Ives?
I repeated it several times and then finally asked, “So how many WERE going to St. Ives?” Ryan:   none. Rhett:   100. Reid:   Where is St. Ives?

  1. It’s the important questions that matters…St. Ives is WHERE? *G*

Yes, the correct Answer is one…but I love all the answers 😀

  2. Too funny! Just tonight I asked Carleigh if she knew what Thanksgiving was. Of course, being a 3 year old she said no. Then I asked if she knew what saying thank you meant. She told us, when we give her something (cute). Then as daddy was explaining to her she says (watching me put cranberry on my turkey) oh, that’s what that is for. Haha, I started laughing so hard because she was not even listening to us at all! Typical =P

  3. Your car rides sound like fun…can I come? And can we go to St. Ives?
