The fun begins as children learn how to create snowflake crystals, make a hot air balloon soar, experience a hurricane and snowstorm, and become a meteorologist for the day! The 2,500-square-foot exhibit houses seven interactive computer stations that operate in English and Spanish.

Underscoring the Museum's mission to inspire minds through nature and science, The Magic School Busâ„¢ allows children and their families to learn meteorology and the science of weather ”together. Locally supported by Lockheed Martin, the exhibit will teach visitors about the different types of weather and their characteristics, including how to read natural world indicators to predict the weather, use scientific measurement tools, such as thermometers and anemometers, and get the behind-the-scenes scoop on how to read maps and graphs like a real meteorologist!

Saturday, May 19, 10am-1pm MNS members – come enjoy a special free lounge just for you! Located inside the Science Building lobby in front of the IMAX ® Theater, the lounge will allow you to meet other member families, use your creative juices to make a special Magic School Bus craft, as well as pick up a snack and a drink for additional fun and relaxation. Once rejuvenated, venture back out and enjoy the Museum’s traveling exhibits The Magic School Bus Kicks Up A Storm or take a dive into Planet Shark: Predator or Prey. The afternoon will be perfect for catching an IMAX ® film, so be sure to catch Sharks or Sea Rex: Journey to a Prehistoric World one last time before they become extinct on May 25. And remember, members enjoy MNS permanent exhibits and Magic School Bus for free and discounted admission to Planet Shark and IMAX ® films.
