There are about 50 Texas authors participating in the Festival this year, including the featured authors Dr. Ray Stephens, Texas Historian and author of
Texas: A Historical Atlas as well as
Dr. J. Rodney Short, “People Motivator” and author of Barnibee, the Amazing Bumblebee and The Wisdom of IF.

The North Texas Book Festival was organized to help school and public libraries and literacy programs in the North Texas area. Since its beginning, more than $45,000 in grants has been awarded to deserving programs.
