Spring is here and my kids are begging to spend every waking moment outside.
Can you blame them?! We love the great outdoors but weather like this makes it almost impossible to stay inside. Nature just beckons us outdoors to enjoy its beauty. The City of Southlake and the Bob Jones Nature Center share our passion and they want to share it with the community as well as they announce the 1st annual Great Outdoor Days. Great Outdoor Days will be a fun filled two-day event featuring outdoor activities, demonstrations, fishing, camping and a whole lot more. The event will also include the Bob Jones Nature Center Earth Day Celebration, the annual Spring Family Campout and Youth Fishing Day competition. Adults and kids alike will have the opportunity to learn about the variety of outdoor activities in own our backyards like geocaching, disc golf and the local wildlife.She Is Dallas Info: Great Outdoor Days will be held on Saturday, April 21st from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bob Jones Park located at 3901 N. There will also be a special Boy Scout and Girl Scout Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 21 from 8:30am to 1:30pm with interactive stations along the trails of the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve. Scouts will have an opportunity to work on nature-related journeys, achievements, badges, and electives. Snacks will be provided; scouts and adult volunteers will need to bring a lunch. Cost: $12 per Scout (no charge for adult volunteers). PLEASE NOTE: The Celebration is for registered scouts ONLY with adult volunteers. If a leader / adult volunteer assists with an Earth Day station (training provided and required), the troop or den receives $2 off each scout attendee.
