Marcos Saldana is a young teen in North Texas who loves pirates.
He’s a lot like other boys his age except that he fights a daily battle against Cystic Fibrosis, a disease that effects his lungs so significantly that he has to take breathing treatments multiple times every day. With this disease he may not live to see his 30s.
Marcos recently received notice that he is a candidate for a lung transplant so he now he waits.
Project Tea invites you to a delightful benefit tea event to help Marcos. The event will include a three course afternoon tea which includes scones with strawberry jam and almond spread, cucumber sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, pineapple cream cheese sandwiches on cinnamon bread, savory blue cheese and fig puffs, variety of breads and berries romanoff.
There will also be tea and chocolate pairings and tastings as well as a Tea Talk by Penny Ward From Affair of the Heart out of Houston on Etiquette and Manner. Guests will receive some awesome Swag Bags and they can enter to win the Hat Contest as well as many great door prizes. There is even a silent auction!
She Is Dallas Info: The benefit tea for Marcos will take place from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Eastminster Church, 6550 Samuell Blvd, Dallas. Tickets are available online for $50 a person or $250 for a table of 6. Project Tea is was born from the passion of Clarissa Almaraz, a tea enthusiast and connoisseur out of Dallas. She began experimenting with her own blending recipes in 2006.
As she grew her tea line to over 20 unique blends and began to partner with local Specialty Shops, Cafe’s, local restaurant, Artisan Farmers Markets, Clarissa felt a need to offer more on Fellowship with Tea to her growing customers base and those that have yet to experience the loveliness that is tea.
Clarissa realizes that tea is so much more then a beverage, it is a way of life, an offer to make life long friends.
Project Tea presents quarterly Afternoon Teas with door prizes, swag bags with samples and exclusive offers, speakers, silent auction and a 3 course tea with much more. Each Affair will be tailored to the season and a portion of the profits will go to a non-profit organization.
