Bella welcomes families into the Burk Children's Library for Bella’s Story Time !
Bella is the host of BRIT's family story times. Much more than a hand-puppet, Bella represents a begonia collected by field research botanists in Peru and sent to BRIT as a specimen. Bring your preschooler and join Bella for reading and exploratory activities in the Burk Children’s Library and the Tree House at BRIT!
She Is Dallas Info: Bella’s Story Time takes place on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) which is located at 1700 University Drive in Fort Worth. From I-30, take the University Drive Exit and go North. Take the second left turn into the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. BRIT will be the building on your right. For more information, please call or visit the Botanical Research Institute of Texas website. You can also follow BRIT on Facebook or BRIT on Twitter.
The story that Bella has chosen for this month’s preschool story time is
Winter Lullaby by Barbara Sueling.
These hour-long programs are designed for preschool-development levels and their adult partners. Parents, grandparents or guardians enjoy an interactive read aloud side-by-side, and explore hands-on nature activities inspired by the story.
Pre-registration not necessary; however, due to limited space, preschools and day care centers will need to schedule at least two weeks in advance. Families may attend at no cost thanks to the generous support of the Fash Foundation.
While you are at BRIT, grab a map and take some time to walk around and explore the gardens. You can also take a docent-led tour such as the “Overview Tour of BRIT” where you will learn about BRIT’s history, present, and future as we talk about our research programs, herbarium, libraries, and educational programs. Make sure that you also visit one of their exhibits such as “Green From the Ground Up” or “Trinity Perspectives 2: Past and Present. “
