Today we’re making Twinkie corn dogs. You heard me right! This sweet treat is simple to make and even tastier to eat. Kids of all ages will love making this edible craft. You just need a few items from the kitchen and a simple craft supply to make this yummy craft. Make Twinkie corn dogs at home or in the classroom.

Twinkie Corn Dogs
These are so cute. They’re obviously not real corn dogs. There is no meat, no corn breading, but instead just a sweet Twinkie and frosting. It can be a fun treat for kids after school or a fun treat at a BBQ.
Either way this edible craft is super simple. Most of the items you can get at the store with ease and you should be able to make 10 of these Twinkie corn dogs.

Supplies Needed To Make A Twinkie Corn Dog
- Twinkies
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- Piping Bags
- Red/Yellow Frosting (I mixed vanilla frosting with yellow and red food coloring).
- Optional: Apples for apple “fries”
How To Make Twinkie Corn Dogs
Step 1

Mix your frosting with the food colorings.
Step 2

Put the red frosting in 1 piping bag and the yellow frosting in the other piping bag. That will be your ketchup and mustard.
Step 3

Unwrap your Twinkies and from the bottom insert a jumbo popsicle stick in it.
Step 4

Drizzle some frosting onto your corn dog to look like ketchup and/or mustard.
Optional:

Peel and cut up an apple and place it on the plate as “fries” and add some red frosting to the plate as ketchup.
How To Make This Edible Craft Your Own
Just like all our other crafts you can make this Twinkie corn dog craft your own. You can do things like:
- Use sucker sticks instead of popsicle sticks.
- Use natural food coloring.
- Instead of frosting use food gel.
- Don’t add any frosting.
- Use jicama or pears instead of apples.
- Omit the apples.
- Use different flavors of frosting.

Our Experience With This Twinkie Corn Dog Edible Craft
Why did I do this? Honestly, I don’t know. We weren’t really doing anything and we had a box of Twinkies and frosting and craft supplies so I was like… let’s do this!
Yes, this edible craft is full of sugar. Yes, my kids were bouncing off the walls. But it was a fun craft and sweet treat that we don’t do often so it was nice to make this memory.
