Oh the Places You’ll Go: Car Game for Tots
We love all Dr. Suess books, but especially enjoy the book, Oh the Places you will Go.
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
~ Dr. Suess.
In the book, the character decides what direction his life is going to take, what paths he will cross, what turns he will make. In today’s kids activity we decided to live out our story, with our new Easy Turn Coupe by Step 2. Having a new outdoor toy is a great way to welcome Spring!
For our game, we drew an arrow on a paper plate. Our “Thing 1” loved being in control! He thought it was great to decide which direction the car got to go. He would rotate the plate and we would “drive” our coupe in the direction that the arrow was pointing (assuming he wasn’t pointing into the road).
You are the guy who’ll decide where to go. ~ Dr. Suess.
“Thing 2” had a blast going along for the ride!
They loved touring our neighborhood – we even met a few new friends out on our walk.
Here are a few of our other posts about playing with our toddlers:
- A collection of the best sensory activities for one year olds.
- Over a dozen ways to engage your two year old kids in activities.
- Help your child develop a playful spirit with some of these games for toddlers.
Thanks Dr. Suess and Step 2 for helping us enjoy our neighborhood. We were given an East Turn Coupe for our family to enjoy and keep as part of this post. Our toddlers thank you, Step 2.
Do you have a fun outdoor toddler game?
We’d love to hear about it in the comments.
