Can you imagine booking a hotel in space?
Well, that dream will certainly become a reality in just a few short years…
The World’s First Space Hotel Is Opening in 2025 and Promises ‘a Sci-fi Dream Experience’.
Truthfully, traveling to space terrifies me because there is so much unknown but hey, if new adventures and experiences are your thing, this is probably for you.
The World’s First Space Hotel
This week, Orbital Assembly Corp. announced plans for two space stations with tourist accommodations.
The first one is known as the Pioneer Station which can host 28 people and is set to be fully operational by 2025.
The second space station hotel will be larger and known as the Voyager Station which will be able to host 400 people and is scheduled to open in 2027.
“For the average person, being in space will be a sci-fi dream experience,”
Tim Alatorre, Chief Operating Officer for Orbital Assembly Corp (OAC)
He continued:
“Our vision is to make space a destination people will yearn to visit, with familiar elements provided by the presence of gravity,”
Now, you may be wondering what you can actually do on this space hotel. After all, wouldn’t you just be floating around a hotel in space?
Apparently, while the technology is not currently available, there are plans to feature artificial gravity which will allow you to move around as you normally would, rather than in a weightless environment.
While I find this super cool they can make this happen, I think I’ll stay here on Earth until they work out all the kinks. Also, I can’t imagine this will be cheap at all!
