The super secret box arrived yesterday. I quietly opened it and released the two Switch & Go Dinos from their packaging. I set them on the kitchen counter and walked into the other room.
Horns The Triceratops and Silver The T-Rex sat patiently, but they didn't have to wait long.
"Mom! Can we play with these?" my two youngest boys (ages 6 and 8) asked.
"Yes, if you will tell me what you think and let me take some pictures tomorrow."
And they played, and played, and played.
When it was time for them to help me, Rhett took charge.
Mommy, take this picture of the cars.
And then I can switch them around so that they are dinosaurs.
Now take a picture of the dinosaurs.
But that is not all!
I figured out that we can switch them to be dragons too!
Now you need to take a picture of the dragons.
Mommy, did you get all the pictures?
Yes. Did you want to show anything else?
Yes, you need to take a picture of the cars going fast.
See how the green car is the fastest?
Yes. The green car seems very fast.
OK. I am done.
At that point, my 6 year old reviewer walked away with both VTech Switch & Go Dinos.
One of the things I liked about the Switch & Go Dinos {in addition to the hours of entertainment they provided the boys} is the LCD screen. When it is in Dino form, the LCD screen shows eyes. When it is in car form, the LCD screen shows a driver. Both LCD screen views can be customized by the kids.
The other thing that is great about this toy is the price. The four Starter Dinos: Silver the T-Rex, T-Don the Pteranodon, Tonn the Stegosaurus and Horns the Triceratops are exclusive right now on Amazon.com. You can Buy today on Amazon for a suggested retail price of $15.99. Starting on June 18, they'll be on sale at VTechKids.com for the same price. This fall these four plus several more will be on the shelves of major retailers.
At that price it makes a great gift for boys between the ages of 3 and 8. It will likely be a hit since it combines two popular boy themes: cars and dinosaurs.
Oh, and with a little imagination, there is the bonus dragon theme!
