Twinkie Submarine Snacks

…We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine… You just can’t help but sing this catchy tune while making these adorable little Twinkie Submarine treats. Kids love decorated treats and Twinkie Submarines are easy and fun to make.   Thanks Hostess for the inspiration. All you need is a box of Twinkies, Fruit Loops or other cereal with circles, a flexible drinking straw, and some icing. Start with your basic Twinkie.   Roll it over so one side faces up. Dot it with three dabs of icing.   This will act like a glue for your port holes (windows). Next, place a piece of cereal circles on each dab of icing. Roll the sweet snack to the other side and repeat. Cuteness is starting to appear!   I love how colorful our fruit loops make the snack boat. Next add some details with icing – a stripe along the side, a hatch on top.   Get creative.   Maybe your submarine needs a smiling face. The cut the top portion of a flexible straw and insert in into one end of the Twinkie.   This is the periscope! These boat snacks would be fun to serve at a party, your child’s next playdate, or maybe just a special treat for a job well done. Of course, my two children beg for them daily for no special reason at all.
