When I asked my son what he wanted to do for his 6th birthday he simply said “I want to go see the Minions“!  Ok simple enough we will go to the movies.  I was silently cheering inside.  I’m a movie person — I love the experience of going to the movie theater, ordering popcorn and getting lost for 2 hours.  So I was not going to try and change his mind about going — it will actually be fun.  This got me thinking about taking my kids to the movies this summer or having a movie party at home.  Did you know there are tons of ways to Create or Join a Summer Movie Club.  And it costs only a fraction of what you would spend on a regular movie ticket. Create your Own Movie Night! You can enjoy a selection of G or PG-rated films for only $1 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting at 10 am. Some of these movies include The Book of Life, Penguins of Madagascar, Dolphin Tale 2, The Lego Movie and Alexander and the Very Bad Day. – Harkins Theaters Harkins Summer Movie Fun program for kids is a 10 week program for less than $1 per film. These movies start at 9:45 am. Check out How to Train your Dragon 2, Rio 2, The Nut Job, Curious George and a lot more. – Cinemark Theaters The Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse is also a summer movie program that offers your kids a chance to see movies at only $1 per ticket at the box office. This takes place Monday – Friday at 11 am. Movies include How to Train your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Ice Age 2, Turbo and more.
