As you know, I have a weakness for the infomercial.
Pajama Jeans, anyone?
So, when I saw the infomercial for the Robo Stir, I couldn’t help myself:
The Robo Stirâ„¢ is the new way to make kitchen work quick and easy. It’s the tool that let’s you stir your food without actually having to stir.
Stirring food is such a chore! Obviously I need a Robo Stir.
The commercial for Robo Stir really makes it look like it is something that rotates in a whisk-like motion, so I was a little surprised when I got my Robo Stir in the mail and found that it really just vibrates.
Vibrates in a circular motion.
I was sure that it would be MUCH better in a pan and solve all my stirring needs, so I gathered a little help (Jana & Andrea) and we prepared to make white sauce to test out the Robo Stir.
We melted the butter.
We added the flour.
We set the Robo Stir in the pan to relieve us from the strenuous stirring duties.
I grabbed my camera and took the picture above and then grabbed my video camera to accurately demonstrate the rotational component:
Yes, if you watched the video to the very last moments of the Robo Stir’s first minute of use, you saw that the stirring mechanism fell off.
Despite the missing ability to stir, the Robo Stir continued to jiggle and jump in one portion of my pan for a few more moments until…
…all three of the Robo Stir feet fell off as well.
So, if you are satisfied with a product that will give you 45 seconds of marginally helpful use, then Robo Stir is for you.
As for us, we have found a better use for the Robo Stir.
UGH! Sorry it didn’t work as planned. It sure liked that one spot on your pan LOL
I’m also a sucker for infomercials. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an infomercial that I didn’t think I HAD to have that product. “But wait….if you call in the next 15 mins” Fortunately I’m too lazy to get up and get my credit card. LOL
Oh my word! I wanted one of these SOOOO badly. Thank you for saving me from a massive headache. I’ve got 6 kids… guess I just keep enlisting them to stir for me! 🙂
Rofl… too funny! Now I am almost panicked, my Mom gave me one of hers, she did the 2 for 1 deal for the robo stir. lol Well my husband likes to make a custard ice cream… and he wasn’t very good at following instructions. Shhh, don’t tell him I said that. When I looked in on him using it and went back to work on the blog, he finished making ice cream, funny thing is we had little bits of what I swore were scrambled eggs in the ice cream! lol Kinda panicking as I don’t know how to break it to him, as it reminded me that I needed to break the news to him. Maybe I will just show him the video, how much you want to bet he didn’t even watch to make sure it got the whole pan or that he didn’t bother to whip the eggs some? I don’t want to break the news to him, so would you come over and eat some of his ice cream and agree with me? 😛 lol
OMG this had me cracking up! You post was outlined perfectly, I watched the infomercial and seriously wanted one really bad! Then I watched your video…omg that is the biggest fail ever. Anytime I see an infomercial on tv its so hard for me to change the channnel, like it’s so interesting my eyes won’t want to look away. I honestly think they make a prototype that works and then they film it working and then they make all the possible cuts to make it as cheap as possible to make…Or I don’t know. LoL you need to get your $10 plus s&h back.
Ohhh I wondered about those infomercial products. I’ll stick with the PJ jeans. LOL

Why is it those things always look soooooooooooo handy on TV? And yet… Thanks for the laugh!
WOW – a whole 45 seconds, lol. At least you found another use for it, so it’s not a total waste!
How funny! I really enjoyed reading! Oh, and what a horrible product!!

My husband was trying to get me to buy this and now I’m glad that I refrained. Thanks for your honest review and video to prove!
