This is my favorite photo.
It is my boys and me on a sailboat in St. Thomas 4 years ago. We went on vacation with my in-laws in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
It was a wonderful week of family covered in water and sand.
When we returned, I made a Shutterfly photo book about the trip for both my in-laws and myself.
It sits on an end table in my living room and the boys look through it at least once a week.

When we went on that trip years ago, Rhett was 7 months old. I didn’t think babies and beaches were a great mix, so he spent the week at my parents’ house…
and that is a whole other Shutterfly book.
Rhett has taken it personally over the years. He studies the St. Thomas trip book on a regular basis. He knows each picture by heart.

Well, a few weeks ago he got his wish. His years of lobbying paid off and we returned to St. Thomas with the ENTIRE family.
And we took another sail.
And the boy who was missing from all the St. Thomas pictures played on the beach.
