Spending time in nature can be one of the most cathartic experiences on earth. The wind in your hair, sun on your face. When you’re on the water, that gentle lapping of waves and the rocking of the boat can give you an experience almost as primal as life in the womb. It’s a connection to earth that is hard to fully explain and impossible to not appreciate. But this man, as he was enjoying time on his boat, found a connection even more unexpected than that. As he was parked on the water, a tiny sea lion pup jumped into his boat, wandered toward the driver, and settled in for a cuddle. You have to see it to believe it. Take a look!
It’s one thing to experience the joys of nature that you know you’re going to experience, but an entirely different kind of gift when something this rare happens. There’s no understanding why the pup wanted on the boat in the first place, or why he felt cuddling the driver would be a safe and calm experience, but it still happened. So for a little while, two beings whom otherwise would never have connected, found solace and joy in each other’s company, in nature, with the sun on their faces and the wind in their hair.
