We all have moments in our lives where we can make another persons day. It doesn’t have to be anything big. A smile. Or saying hello. Holding open the door for someone to let them walk ahead of you at the convenience store. Telling someone they have beautiful eyes when they look like they’re having a bad day. These little things can make all the difference in someone’s day, sometimes even their life. Sometimes, though, we have a chance to make a big difference for someone. The man in this video had that chance whist riding the subway in New York. A woman on the train was selling roses and when he stepped up, he did something incredible. And after? Walked away. That’s what makes this so special. He didn’t stand around waiting for accolades, he simply let his act of kindness speak for itself. Take a look!
What I love is that this moment obviously affected the woman selling flowers very deeply. But, it also affected everyone else who saw it. You can tell from their voices and their faces that this moment gave them something good to go home and talk about. And that’s what kindness is all about. It’s about giving someone else a chance to smile, for no reason other than their smile.
