We’re never ready for our kids to grow up. From the moment they’re born it seems like they do everything in their power to grow up as fast as possible. That first smile happens so fast. And then before you know it they’re talking, walking, married, have kids of their own. Okay, I might be getting a little ahead of myself. What I’m saying is that kids try so hard to grow up as fast as possible and none of us can be prepared for that moment when they’re so big that they don’t need us anymore. For this little girl, luckily that moment isn’t quite yet. Still, she’s decided that she needs a very grown-up thing, and I’m not sure dad is going for it. Take a look! My daughter was six when she told me she needed to get married. We’d been to the wedding of one of my close friends and she decided it was well past time for her to get hitched, as well. That at six-years-old she was approaching the age of being unmarriable and that she’d marry the first boy who asked. It was Aiden, from her class. Technically, she asked him, but he agreed. Luckily, there are laws against things like that, so I didn’t have to watch my daughter head down the aisle just yet. Also, luckily, I think it’ll be a few years before this daddy has to worry about boyfriends for real. Thank. Goodness.
