Some songs stick with us from the moment we first hear them. I think for a lot of us, the Disney songs rank right up there. Their cheerful melodies, paired with sweet stories make us sing them over and over from the time we hear them until months after we wish we could forget them. Frozen, anyone? Little Mermaid came out when I was a teenager and it was something I loved sharing with my daughter when she was old enough. We both love the movie, and especially Kiss The Girl. Well, that is, until I heard it like this… Who knew changing the key would make such a major difference in how a song sounds? This went from a sweet, perky love song to something almost stalkerish, definitely haunting. My daughter called it weird and cool. More than anything this makes me think about what a difference music really does make in how we feel about the movies we see. Had a single note in that song changed, how differently would we feel about that movie?
