One of my favorite experiments to do with kids is making elephant toothpaste. Their eyes get so wide when it shoots up out of the tube, it’s amazing to watch. But sometimes it doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to, and then it’s just a whole lot of blah. Still, when it works it’s super cool…I thought. It WAS cool until I saw the Crazy Russian Hacker make elephant toothpaste using  Potassium Permanganate. Potassium permanganate is a caustic oxide which can be purchased on Amazon and has medical uses, but probably shouldn’t be used around children who might touch it…it can burn skin if it isn’t diluted. Still, this is absolutely the coolest COOLEST elephant toothpaste I’ve EVER seen! Take a look! How cool was that!?!? Seriously, this is probably my favorite of all the science experiments to watch with kids.
