We all dream of raising kids who are thoughtful, kind, competitive yet fair, but I doubt the parents on Either of these basketball teams expected what happened during this one game. When the coach decided to put his team manager, Mitchell, in to play, his team knew they had to do everything the could to give the kid a shot. See, their team manager is the spirit of the team – and also disabled. He’s the teams biggest supporter, and despite every effort to get him a basket, it seemed like hope was running out for this lifetime dream…then, the worst possible thing happened. The ball turned over to the other team with only seconds left on the clock.
I can’t imagine the amount of generosity, strength, and great parenting that went into ALL of those boys, but I hope my children grow up to be just as kind and incredible. Huge kudos to both teams for making Mitchell’s dream come true.
