Dear Jerry,
Dallas is in the midst of a series of plagues. It appears God is trying to get your attention and I beg you to make things right.
The Plagues upon Dallas
- The 2010 Cowboy football season.
- The 2/1 ice storm.
- The 2/1 school closure.
- The 2/2 temperatures unlike anything Dallas has endured in 30 years.
- The 2/2 school closure.
- The 2/3 temperatures continuing the 4 inches of ice covering everything including the roads.
- The 2/3 school closure.
- The 2/4 SNOW STORM covering the 4 inches of ice covering everything including the roads.
- The 2/4 school closure.
- ????
Historically, plagues get worse. I really don’t want to chance it…especially with the Super Bowl this weekend.
Repent!
LET MY PEOPLE GO…to school.
Holly
Ha! This is absolutely nuts.
That’s too funny! Have you seen the PSA by Troy Aikman telling us that we need to be good hosts? There’s even a website that will tell us how to be friendly to our guests. If we never seen another Super Bowl here it’ll be too soon. So sick of the hype!
I’ve been thinking the same thoughts all week!! Evidently, He doesn’t like being told which team is His favorite.
Which, as we all know is not the Cowboys. It’s the…wait for it…Saints.
I’m about to bundle up the boys and send them out. I’ll point them in your direction. Maybe your three can meet them in the middle?
You’re welcome.
Oh Holly, that’s funny! Love it!
Oh I so feel your pain! I went through it last Feb with the mid-Atlantic blizzards.
What ever happened to global warming?
Al Gore must be so pissed.
I really hope he is reading this post. It sounds like you need relief from the snow.
Laughing WITH you not at you! Check out my blog today, a letter to our school superintendent. It’s a form letter, you may want use. : )
Happy Friday from a Mom Looper!
Just two days and counting…..I hope the game brings lots of tourists who spend $$$ in your town at least!
Swing low, Sweet Chariot
Comin’ for to take my kids to school
Swii-ing low (or high, or sideways, or whatever it takes to get here)
Sweet Chariot (or school bus, or helicopter, or M-1 Tank…again, whatever it takes)
Comin’ for to take my kids to school…
Please, please, please…for the love of Phineus & Ferb PLEASE let them go to school next week. Jerry, I BEG YOU.
You can add the ice/snow falling off the Cowboy Stadium and critically injuring people. GEEZ! This is seriously getting ridiculous! The Superbowl in Arlington was the worst.idea.ever!
I haven’t seen the PSA and it probably would have made me mad because even in all our shortcomings, one thing you can NOT say about Texans is they are unfriendly.
We are much more likely to hug than any other people I know.
Mine are on the way..
HEEEEELP!
I am praying for global warming.
Jersey Diva Mom has a really funny post on her blog about begging the school to take her kids in any kind of weather: http://jerseydivamom.blogspot.com/2011/02/letter-to-our-school-superintendent.html
Thanks for sharing!
They have been trying to come all week but the roads are terrible and the airport has been closed several times…ugh! The sun is out this afternoon…hopefully it is melting to the point where travel is possible.
AMEN!
and ha!
I almost felt guilty about writing this post when I heard that!!! It is terrible.
LOL Holly…I am in your neck of the woods covered with freaking snow and trapped in a hotel room at the moment (here for music audition at UNT) and now I know who to blame, so thanks! I am ALWAYS looking for someone to blame. It’s how I roll. Also? I just found out (after she came in from making an impressive igloo in the snow) that my 9-year-old brought no other clothes with her (that’s right – I trusted her to pack for herself) and by the way, SHOULD I HAVE BROUGHT SOCKS, MOM? ‘CAUSE MY FEET ARE COLD!” And then? To warm her up? I stripped her naked and took her clothes and shoes to the hotel dryer and opened it up and put in $2 in quarters that I luckily had to get at the hotel bar and put the clothes and shoes in and hit start and then discovered that it is a %$#*ing WASHER not a dryer. And then? We had to unplug it to get it to stop so that we could get the door open and pull the REALLY REALLY WET clothes and shoes out and put them into the dryer and then back to the bar for more quarters (and alcohol – because I earned it). Damn that Jerry Jones!
snow days are like a little preview of summer. never a good thing.
OH NO! Bless you. I would have brought you socks if I could get out of my driveway…!
After 4 straight days I will have a nervous breakdown if I even THINK of summer…
I have friends from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and they have been going stir crazy during this crazy weather. Also I hear you can’t go outside because of the potential falls that the ice brings. Slipping on ice is no joke (I’ve done it many times in Alaska) Just wondering, are they selling industrial bags of ice salt? Because that stuff really works.
And you have a number 10! Then snow starts falling off the Cowboys Stadium and injures 6 people walking underneath. Oy Vay!! What else could go worong?! lol.
At least the stadium has power, I mean the city has it’s priorities, right? I’d rather have our 20+ inches of snow than your 4 inches of ice any day!
Enjoy the game! 🙂
Jerry does need to repent. I have to say that my kids were really upset that Dallas got all the snow!
OMG! It was really really nice post! your blog site is awesome! that’s why I always like to read your every post 🙂
Thanks.
