It’s summer time, which means outside play!   And that also means lots of dirty little hands!!   Spend an afternoon with your kids & create this Garden Soap On A Rope, and hang it on the outside hose faucet so they can scrub up before they come inside.

YOU WILL NEED:

2 ft. section of any rope (or braid your own with raffia or string!)

2/3 cup grated bar soap

2/3 cup cornmeal

2Tbsp warm water

2Tbsp baby oil

WHAT TO DO:

Tie the ends of your rope together to form a loop.

In a mixing bowl, combine the grated soap & cornmeal.   Add the water & baby oil, and using your hands, squish & mix the ingredients until it forms a stiff dough.   If your mixture is too dry, add more water, a teaspoon at a time.   Mixing & measuring are the perfect jobs for kids!

Squeeze & shape the dough around the knot of your rope loop.   Pack it firmly into a ball shape.   Allow to dry completely, about 2 weeks, before hanging it from an outside hose faucet.

Fun, cheap, & useful.   Now that’s a project I like!
