When students in his fifth grade class began approaching him in the playground about dating rumors, math teacher Jason Seifert knew it was time to come clean to his students. The Ohio teacher had been dating fellow teacher, Ally Barker, and rather than let the kids speculate about their relationship, the teachers stood united in front of their class.
It started out simple enough, with Jason first shushing the students, then asking them to admit if they’d heard rumors or not. Of course, the class erupted. And why wouldn’t they? The most exciting thing that usually happens in fifth grade is a fire drill…
After he calms them down again, Jason goes on to admit that they’ve gone beyond simple hand-holding and ice cream dates…
