A woman, allegedly held captive in her own home by her husband, reached out for help through a deliveryman. The Franklin County Sheriff in Missouri says 33-year-old James Jordan locked his 3-year-old son in his room for 15 hours with no food, during which time he allegedly abused his wife. Officials say the woman saw an opportunity to get help when a UPS deliveryman came to pick up a package at the home. She allegedly wrote on the box ‘contact 911’, which he did. And it’s amazing that he did. If anything had gone differently – if he hadn’t seen the message, or if her husband had, who knows how this would have ended. Instead the woman and her son were freed and her husband arrested. Take a look!
I’m fortunate enough to have never been in this sort of situation, but I am incredibly proud of this woman for finding a way to save herself and her son. What she did took quick thinking, and bravery, and she is as much a hero as the driver who called 9-1-1.
