I was nine when we lived at the very top of a very tall, steep hill in Washington. My brother and his friends all had these dirt bikes, and I had a girly banana seat bike with a basket on the front. Still, in my mind I was ‘one of the guys’. The boys decided to race from the top of the hill down into our neighbor’s driveway at the bottom and skid to a stop. When it was my turn, I followed suit, but because my bike was built differently, it didn’t stop the same way. I ended up crashing and had to get almost 100 stitches to repair my leg. As awful as that was, I can’t even fathom what the man in this video, Carlos, went through. And what boggles my mind even more is the truly bizarre way the doctor went about putting him back together again! Take a look!
As weird as this is, I am totally fascinated by it. I hope there’s another video after Carlos’s next surgery, because I can not WAIT to see what happens next!
