I’m not sure if anyone remembers the movie Mask. It had Cher and was the story of Rocky Dennis, a kid with facial deformities that made him look like a lion. It was a great movie, and a true story, so if you haven’t seen it, go watch it. Seriously, you’ll love it. But, back to this…in the movie Rocky ends up befriending a blind girl during summer camp. Okay, more than befriending…they pretty much fall in love. But, this girl because she’s been blind her entire life has never seen color. So Rocky goes through these brilliant steps to get her to understand what color is. Hot stones, cold ice, cotton, the feel of sunlight on her face. I’d never thought about color as anything but visual until that movie, and I’m sure these kids felt the same exact way until they went through this. It’s really awesome watching them try to figure out how to describe it. I’m not sure I could do as great a job as them. Take a look!
