For me it was the book, “I’ll Love You Forever.” You know the one. The mama sneaks into her baby’s room, peers over the side of the crib, and once she’s sure that baby is really asleep she starts to sing to him…”I’ll love you forever. I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” And he grows and grows until one day he’s a grown man holding his mama in his lap and singing that same song. And that did it for me. TEARS. Bawling my eyes out because of a children’s book. For this mama it was the movie Storks. After seeing the little baby grow up at the end the mom can’t take it. She looks at her own baby and realizes someday he will no longer be a baby. And it’s all over. Take a look!
Like I said, we’ve all been there. That moment where we realize our kids are only kids for so long and pretty soon they won’t even be kids. You’ve got a few years, Mama, all I can say is try to cherish them while you can!
