At just nine-months-old Leo Westlake started escaping things. It started with his bouncer. Then his highchair. Pretty soon there was nothing Leo wouldn’t climb. At first his mom, Alice, worried her sweet baby would get hurt, but when she realized there was no stopping her tiny thrill-seeker, she went for it. This is a video of Leo, now twenty-one months old, climbing over TWO secured straight gates. It’s impressive to watch! The kid’s got strength like you couldn’t imagine and I’m guessing if Alice ever took him to the mountains, he’d scale the side of a cliff before she had a chance to stop him. Take a look!
Neither of my kids were huge climbers, but I have a nephew who would routinely end up high up in strange places of my house with no explanation for how he got there. When you’ve got one of these kids you figure out pretty quickly you can either kill yourself with worry, or embrace it and pray nothing breaks if they ever do fall. I’m guessing Leo here’s gonna have a lifetime of terrifying his mama ahead of him and all I can say is…good luck, mom. And maybe keep those insurance cards handy.
