DIY Hairbow Display

IMG_2164We had fun as part of our plant theme, making hair bows. And now that we have these lovely hair bows we need a nice way to “display” them. Here’s how you can make a hair bow display.  These instructions can be adapted to make a mini-photo display or even a mail or bills sorter.

Supplies you will need:IMG_2163

  • Pretty fabric
  • Packing Tape
  • Hot Glue Gun and Sticks
  • Ribbon
  • A Stack of Old Magazines (cut any nifty pictures from them first so you can use them later for other projects)

Instructions:

Tape your stack of magazines together so they are a solid package and easier to work with.  Cut the fabric so there is enough to cover both the front and back of the stack with about three inches margin (for gluing).  Wrap your stack with the fabric as you would a present.  Use the hot glue as you would tape, to wrap the magazines with the fabric.  Once you have the wrapped “stack”, use the hot glue to make straps of ribbon.  Your straps can be vertical as mine are or you can make a crisscross pattern.  If you have a lot of hair bows, you can even add streamers of ribbon to the bottom of your display to give you extra bow storage.
