It’s a rite of passage this time of year. October brings cooler weather, football, and pumpkin patches! In fact, it doesn’t even feel like fall without them. There is something about donning the warm sweater and walking through rows of pumpkins trying to find the perfect one that really brings this season to life.
Where do you like to enjoy this season? There are so many to choose from. Everyone has their favorites. Here’s a list of a few of the pumpkin patches in North Texas. Find one you like and make it a tradition! Some of these are more than just pumpkin patches. Enjoy them throughout the year.

You will find hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, cornstalks, hay bales, baked goods, and refreshments.
Picnic tables are provided for individual use, however use of tables by any large groups or parties must be reserved and confirmed.
There is a $5 charge for parking, however ALL ACTIVITIES ARE FREE. Purchases are optional. Each season we feature cutouts and bounce houses for the kids. In addition a number of local vendors provide food for purchase.

Country Critters Farm

Activities include: bounce house, train and tractor playground, a pony ride, petting zoo, train ride, hay ride, the maze, and the storyteller. At the storyteller kids get a cookie and apple juice and adults get a slice of home made pumpkin bread. Children get a pie size pumpkin, and can decorate it with markers, each family will receive a jack-o-lantern pumpkin with admission!
Open: Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, gates close at 4 pm each day, Opens September 24th through November 6th; Open weekdays by reservation only. Bring the family out to Country Critters Farm for our annual Pumpkin Patch. Admission is $9 per person.

Hay rides are included in admission (we’ve added an additional tractor and wagon to our fleet to keep the line moving), and you’ll get to play in the 3-story tree house, wooden maze and other playground activities. We have 3 mazes, face and pumpkin painting, a hay-play and jump barn, 100 ft. super chute slide, pedal kart race track, GOAT SCAPE MOUNTAIN, picnic pavilion, and indoor restrooms. The Dallas Arboretum has transformed into a beautiful fall wonderland. The grounds will be filled with 150,000 blooming fall flowers and foliage plantings plus more than 50,000 pumpkins, squash and gourds.
Cinderella’s Pumpkin Village – In keeping with our 2011 “It’s a Fairy Tale World” theme, Cinderella’s Pumpkin Village comes to life with four houses based on the classic fairytale. Constructed of 1,200 pumpkins and gourds, the houses depict Cinderella’s ballroom, the rooms of Cinderella and her ugly stepsisters, and the Fairy Godmother’s home. Children of all ages will enjoy exploring the village under a canopy of Pecan Trees.
Cinderella’s Carriage – Don’t miss your chance to have a great memento with a photo taken in Cinderella’s enchanted carriage! This beautiful life-sized carriage is white with gold detailing and measures more than six feet tall and six feet wide. Two full-size topiary horses “pull” the carriage.

The Great Pumpkin Search – Join in on the Great Pumpkin Search! Print out a handout here, and then have a scavenger hunt with the little ones to find all the different types of pumpkins and gourds.
Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Scavenger Hunt – Search Cinderella’s Pumpkin Village and the seven whimsically designed Fairy Tale Castles for special hidden items. The scavenger hunt handout is available online and at the Information Booth.
