LEGO® Videos

My three boys love LEGO Videos.  They love to make LEGO® videos and they love to watch LEGO® videos.

{A great big LEGO® hug should be inserted here!}

My boys are 7, 9 and 11.  Every allowance-earned cent goes to the LEGO® Store.  Each birthday and gift-giving holiday are filled with LEGO® wrapped boxes.

LEGO Videos

Our playroom {and Lego tables} are filled with LEGO®-built towns and countrysides.  Computer time for the boys usually centers around Lego.com.  Even family game night usually ends up with a round or three of Creationary.

All these things were reasons why I was really excited to hear about The Official LEGO® Channel on YouTube.

LEGO® Videos

The Official LEGO® Channel was kid-tested in my house and approved.  In fact, I set up the boys’ iPads with the YouTube app and then created a LEGO® playlist using The Official LEGO® Channel which keeps only more LEGO® videos to be recommended.

The boys love it.  They watched various videos for HOURS.  In fact, there are 500+ videos from which to choose.  That is probably more than mine need since they tend to watch their favorites over and over.

Set Up a LEGO® Video Playlist

To set up a playlist from The Official LEGO® Channel for your child:

  1. Go to your YouTube account and create a “new playlist”.  I named mine LEGO® Channel so the boys would recognize which channel to watch.
  2. Visit Youtube.com/LEGO and watch a video.
  3. Click “video options”.
  4. Select “Add to Playlist”.
  5. Sign in using your YouTube login.
  6. Add selected video to your new playlist.*

*To keep non-LEGO® videos from being recommended in this playlist, simply build the list with ONLY Official LEGO® Channel videos.

Watching LEGO® Videos

Up until recently, I hadn’t loaded YouTube onto my kids’ iPads because I am not thrilled with the content of many of the videos there.  What I love about The Official LEGO® Channel playlist option is that I can set it up and let them “explore” within the channel knowing that they are only being exposed to videos that I am comfortable with them watching.

They love it because they do have choice over what they view and because it is on their iPads, it is portable entertainment.

Because it is all free, it is also a very allowance-friendly entertainment option!

There is a lot of content on web; creating a playlist on the Official LEGO® Channel is a great way to ensure your kids are entertained and watching videos you can feel good about.
